Mindfulness is the basic human ability to fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Mindfulness can help children feel brave, strong and happy. This six-week course focuses on mindfulness in a child centered way. We include children’s yoga and maintain a teaching emphasis on being present and aware. Breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques are all used while having fun and building social skills!

Trauma Informed Yoga
All of our yoga classes are offered in a trauma informed manner. Whether you have had extensive trauma in your past, are dealing with mental health issues, or just find attending a yoga class to be intimidating, this might be the place for you. We offer a safe environment, small class sizes, and take a literal hands off approach (meaning no physical adjustments). Every cue in class is an invitation and each student is in control of their own practice. Unwanted memories and past experiences can make for intrusive thoughts, which can create challenges for survivors. Yoga can be another pathway to healing using your own innate resources and can help establish connection to the self and others.
